Review

On to the Technical side, Priyadharshan is back with a whole new style, oppam is a physo thriller movie which is executed brillaintly. Both story and well written screenplay were effective and have thier on importance. Cinematography is handled by N.K.Ekambaran, he had neatly visualised the movie and done a neat job. Songs are composed by 4 Musics, ‘Minnaminunge’ and Marraige song were really nice. Background score by Rom Ethan Yohan were apt to the scenes. Overall the movie is executed nicely.

On to the Performance, Mohanlal as Jayaraman, who is an blind liftman working in an appartment performed well. this character was a lot of challenging especially the mannerism and expressions of him. But Mohanalal was living as the charavter. Even though there had a lot of closeup shots and huge screen presence, he had simply done his role and surely this is one of his carrier best performance.

Anushree as ACP ganga was nice and she done her part nicely.Baby minakshi delivered an cute performance. Her performance towards the end were really superb.

R Samuthirakani as Vasu, as a physo villain performed really well. with his physo character, attitude and villaism he seems to be a perfect villain.

Nedumudi Venu as retired chief justice Moorthi, Cheban Vinod as C.I Anandhan, Vimala Raman, Renji Panicker, Mammukoya, Harish, Aju varghese, Shajon also performed well.

in this 152mins movie, the movie goes slowly in the begining  but soon the movie turns into much trilling till the end of the plot.

Oppam seems to stand odd from all those m-wood thrillers as its making have something new to showcase and the mouse and cat play between the Hero and Villaan is shown well.

Bottom Line: A well written screenplay executed brillaintly. The first half is filled with family elements with some comedies and the second half is much serious with an thrilling plot with an good climax.

Pros

  • Performance of Mohanlal.
  • Screenplay and Direction.

Cons

  • Some unwanted scenes could have been removed in the first half.
  • Dialouges of some actors were too Dramatic.

Verdict: A good thriller which could be enjoyed by both friends and family.
