Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi is a Natural Visual Treatment

‘Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is a process; working together is success.’ This is the message of the movie to the viewers in one word. We should work together against the forces that are trying to destroy our nature. 7000 Kandi portrays the importance of saving our nature. And it is a visual treatment to the Molly wood.

Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi discusses such a story about a tribal village which is 7000 Kandi (Unit of Length) far into the forest. Lord Livingstone is a British company which is came to destroy this 7000 kandi village to a resort. Against this cruelty Nature enthusiast Philipose John Varkey (Kunchacko Boban) writes a letter to 100 peoples for join together to save this village. As a result 6 persons joins him with a forest guide (Sudheer karmana) and together try and fought to save the precious forest.

On to the casting Kunchacko as Philipose John Varkey played really well along with him Nedumudi Venu as the retired defense secretary CKAK Menon were convincing. Adventurous Shanumgan Ilangovan (Bharath) was also good. Gun testing expert Madhumita Krishnan (Reenu Mathews) and street magician Bheeran (Sunny Wayne) were nice. Chemical engineer Ananthakrishnan Iyer (Jacob Gregory) and Prof. Neelakandan (Chemban Vinod) were somewhat different and funny with their roles and finally guide Mahadevan (Sudheer Karamana) were really good with his different kind of slang and performance.

On to the Technicle side, direction were really superb but the screenplay were not up to the mark. The cinematography handled by Jayesh Nair is somewhat superb giving us a perfect visual treat and the edits were just OK. Music composed by Rex Vijayan were good. Sound design were done neatly. Another highlight of the movie is the visual effects done by the team of Bollywood super hit ‘Life of Pie’.Excluding Some visual effects in some scenes, all other were nice.

In first half introduced the 8 characters and a introduction to the village. And the team made a master plan for saving the village from the big fishes.

If film maker had been concentrate on climax, with much more relevant and strong plot, this one would be the top movie.

Bottom line: A different approach in Malayalam cinema without any strong plot or interesting climax with filled with visual treat.

  • Cinematography
  • Performance of Cheban Vinod, Sudheer karmana were really nice
  • All the voices and sounds were really convincing

  • Weak Screenplay
  • Climax could have been made better

Verdict : A don’t miss movie if you are a nature lover or else a average flick

Thirdshows Rating 2.75/5
