Kohinoor review

Kohinoor directed by Kili Poyi fame Vinay Govind is a clean family entertainer which shows Diamond robbery in the backdrop of a Textile shop.

As the director said he had learn one more Alphabet. That is the transformation from ‘A’ certified kili Poyi to to clean ‘U’ certified Kohinoor. Even though there have some little faults in the screenplay the direction was quite good. Cinematography handled by Pratheesh M was really appreciable and the Rahul Raj’s music too was really awesome and appreciable.

The story of ‘Kohinoor’ develops during the 1987-88 period. It was a time when Mohanlal’s ‘Rajavinte Makan’ and Mammootty’s ‘Athirathram’ were such a rage among youth. Louis (Asif Ali) wishes to be like Vincent Gomas and Tharadas, the heroes in these movies. If not, at least become a junior Vincent Gomas or Tharadas; to earn wealth and name and thus become famous. When Louis set out with such an aim, he is joined by his close companion Aandikunju (Aju Varghese).Haider (Indrajith) from Mumbai, Freddy (Sunny Wayne) from Kochi, and Freddy’s friend Nicholas (Chemban Vinod Jose) are the other characters In the movie. And the story continous on a mission of Robbery.

The combination of Asif Ali and Aju Varghese was really nice. Indrajith, Vinay fort and Cheban Vinod was notably stylish and they supported well. Aparna Vinod is the heroine but she don’t have much to do in this movie. Bhavana does a cameo role. The other roles are handled by Thyagarajan, Mamukkoya, Sudheer Karamana, Johny, and Meghanathan.

Even thought there are a couple of twists at the end. The makers have been failed to sort it up. If some more twists and turns were there , the movie would have been more thrilling. Romance part were also not that much convincing but overall it was an good attempt and a watchable flick.
Bottom Line: the movie could have added little more fun element and trilling twist to the climax.

  • Asif Ali
  • Music
  • Cinematography

  • Screenplay could have been made better
  • Romance part were not that much convincing

Verdict: A one time watchable family entertainer
Thirdshows Rating: 2.5/5
