King Liar Review: A Festive Family Entertainer

King Liar is the title of Siddique Lal’s come back movie with Dileep in the lead. In this film, Dileep plays a young guy who opens his mouth only to eat and telling lies.

‘Premam’ sensation Madonna Sebastian will star opposite Dileep in King Liar. The movie is inspired by Dany Boon’s 2014 comedy film Supercondriaque, it revolves around the character Sathyanarayanan(Dileep), who is diagnosed with pseudologia fantastica.

The Trailer of King Liar:

Dileep as Sathyanarayanan was nice and funny.
‘Premam’ fame Madonna Sebastian does the character Anjali, she looks pretty and her acting was okay.

Balu Varghese as a close companion of Sathyanarayanan was okay and nice. Harish K.R as Pushpakumar did a neat comedy role with lots of Counters.
Lal as Adithya Varma, a leading Designer in an MNC was looking so Handsome as Stunning in his new Stylish look and does one of the main roles in an excellent way. Asha Sarath as Adithya Varma’s wife was so bold and sharp.
Pradeep Kottayam, Natasha Suri, Joy Mathew, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Balachandran Chullikkad, Kottayam Somaraj, Master Nebish, Baby Akhila and Rajesh Babu form the remaining cast.

Satyanarayanan (Dileep) has a life full of conflicts and contradictions. In order to overcome the troubles in his life, he takes on different roles and different names. While he is Satyan in one place, he is Hari in another, and Preman in yet another and reaches a stage when Satyanarayanan himself cannot remember his real name. He has tried his luck in many jobs – in business, as minister’s personal assistant, company staff, real estate, photostat etc. In contrast to his name Satyanarayanan, he always tells lies. To save himself from the fall out of one lie he comes with a bunch of lies and thus he becomes the King of lies, a person who lives in lies. He shifted to Dubai, once he is unable to stay back any longer in his native place. There too he continues to be a liar. ‘Premam’ fame Madonna Sebastian does Anjali, a girl who is in love with Satyanarayanan. ‘King Liar’ is a comedy entertainer directed by Lal and scripted by Siddique. The dialogues are penned by Bipin Chandran and the camera is handled by Alby. The music section is handled by Alex Paul and Deepak Dev. ‘King Liar’ is produced by Ouseppachen under the banner of Ouseppachen Movie House.

the first half deals with the life of how Sathyanarayanan lives with silly jobs and also how he tries to Impress his Girlfriend  and Followed by some Serious things that Happens in his  life is portrayed in the latter half.
On to the Technical Aspects, beyond some lagging in some occasions, the Screenplay written  by the duo  were okay and the direction by Lal alone was good. Music byAlex Paul were just good by the title song by Vijay Yesudas weren’t match for dileep. BGM by Deepak Dev were nice. DOP is done by Alby where the edits are done by Ratheesh Raj.

Never Expect the flicks that we use to get from this duo decades ago. King Liar is a Different Approach. the movie is 158minutes long if that had been reduced many boring scenes could be avoided. Even though there aren’t many Romantic Scenes in the movie, Both Dileep and Madonna seems as a good pair.

Bottom Line: A good Family Entertainer if you go without any hype and Never Compare King Lair with the earlier flicks from this duo.

  • Dileep Performed with a lot of Energy.
  • Direction and DOP.

  • the movie could have been made lesser in running time so that the lag and boring scenes in many occasions could have been avoided.
  • The screenplay could be made better.

Verdict: A Good Comedy Entertainer.

Recommendation: Worth Watching with Family for this Festive Vacation Time.

Thirdshows Rating: 3/5.
