Jomonte Suvisheshangal Review: A Decent Family Entertainer

After Kammattipadam, It has been long 7month since we met DQ on silver screen. Jomonte Suvisheshangal is a malayalam cinema written by Iqbal kuttippuram and directed by Sathyan Anthikkad.

After the blockbuster ‘Oru Indian Pranayakatha’ the combo Sathyan Anthikad with Iqbal Kuttipuram is back with another flick that too with the young sensation Dulquer Salman. So the expectaion was at the peak

Watch Jomonte Suvishesham Trailer here:

  • Dulquer Salman as Jomon
  • Anupama as Catharine
  • Mukesh as Vincent
  • Jacob Gregory as Mushtak
  • Innocent
  • Shivaji Guruvayur
  • Muthumani
  • Vinu Mohan
  • Irshad

Jomon (dulquer) is a lazy and irresponsible son of a business tycoon named Vincent (Mukesh) from Thrissur. The story revolves around thier family, some problems and it also concentrates on the father-son relationship.

On to the Technical side, Jomon is a typical Sathyan Anthikad Style movie which is filled with greenary, family relationships and much more some values and messages. even though the making was good. The story and screenplay by dr.Iqbal kuttipuram were somewhat cliched and lagging.

Songs were tuned by Vidyasagar and set upto to an average. Background score was reasonable. Cinematography by S. Kumar was quite good as expected from a man of his experience.

On to the Performance, Dulquer Salman as Jomon had neatly performed and Apt. But there is nothing hard or challenging for him as compared to his recent films. Mukesh as Vincent, were great with performance on both emotional and funny sides.

Gregory as Jomon’s friend Mushtaq was okay while Muthumani, Irshad, Vinu Mohan and Sivaji Guruvayoor and Innocent were notable among the supporting actors. Tamil actor Manobala appear after the halfway stage and makes a mark in his familiar style. Both the leading female Anupama Parameswaran and Aiswarya Rajesh couldn’t make any impact due to half baked characters. Rasna Pavithran( Oozham fame) also been a part as Jomons sister.

there is a lot of ressembalance on the storyline with Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Jacobinte Swargarajyam’ and also the movie is not that interesting as expected with a highly predictable plot once the family track in the film gets settled.

in this 148 mins movie, first half deals with the life style of Vincent and his family, nature of jomon etc… and followed by some incidents haopening in their life and how they take care of it.

Bottom Line: the film turns out to be pretty well till the first half and runs out of steam after that.

  • Performance of Mukesh and Dulquer Salman.
  • Direction

  •  Lag towards the end.
  • Somewhat cliched and predictable storyline.

Verdict: An Average Family Entertainer. worth watching with family and friends.
