Amar Akbar Anthony Review: a funny flick

1

Being a fully comedy entertainer Amar Akbar Anthony get into our hearts. After the blockbuster hit Classmates again the chemistry between the trio had really work outed in this movie.

The all rounder of Malayalam cinema, Nadir shah had already proved his talent in different areas of the cinema from writing the lyrics to singing, acting, mimicry, parody and now with direction. As a debutante film maker he had done a lot of home work before the execution of the movie and have been successful in executing this 131 minute fully comedy entertainer.

Amar Akbar Anthony says the story of deep friendship of titular characters in a comedy pace along with some elements such as love, emotional scenes etc. On to the Technical side, direction was good enough but the screenplay by the duo Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan could have been made better, in many occasions it wipes off from the track and but was ok but the edits by John kutty was nice.

Special applause to Sujit Vaassudev who captured the visuals brilliantly. The BGM were good which was done by Bijibal and music composed by Nadir shah itself were already a hit in Social medias including the ‘Premamennal’ sang by Pritviraj, Jayasurya, Indrajith and Shajon.

First half is of introducing all the characters and showing their deep friendship and discusses some problems faced by one of them and they all together try to solve it in the second half.

Coming on to the casting, Pritviraj as Amar, done a neat and slight different role and been the best of all as always. Jayasurya as Akbar and Indrajith as Anthony were really good and they were the once who made us laugh till our stomach pains. Namitha Pramod as female lead were nice.

Along with them Pisharady, Dharmajan Bolgatty,cK. P. A. C. Lalitha, Bindu Panicke, Akanksha Puri, Kalabhavan Shajon, Abu Salim, Srinda Ashab, Sasi Kalinga, Saju Navodaya and Noby supported well.

Bottom line: Amar Akbar Anthony is a mixture of a lot of comedies with a small story. Never go with the expectation of a great movie with a strong story. Watch it with a mindset to laugh and enjoy. Surely u will be happy.
