Salim Ahamed is back with much powerful story starring Mammooty and Jewel Mary in the lead.
Pathemari stands top in terms of technical Aspects. Salim Ahamed had done a brilliant job in bringing and executing such a wonderful realistic story. The cinematography handled by Madhu Ambat were really appreciable and the Music by Bijibal had also been nice.
Pathemari portaits the life of narayanam from 1960 to 2015 in four different get up. Salim ahmed really utilized mammootty as an actor not as a super star. Pallikal narayanan is an example of each individual who step down from his home To overseas just to feed and fulfil the need of his family, who had sacrificed his entire life in deserts for his family.
The first Half deals with the introduction of Pallikal Narayanan (Mammooty) in gulf and shows flashback on how he reaches there in a slow pace but the second half was much more interesting, deals with the problems faced by him as a ‘Pravasi’.
The movie says the story of each and everyone who goes to Gulf Countries and the problems faced by them in the society and family on both financial and healthy issues.
Coming on to the Casting, Mammooty as Pallikal Narayanan just lived the character in the movie. Siddique, Saleem Kumar, Sreenivasan, Joy Mathew and Shaheen Siddique supported well with their roles. Jewel Mary as Narayan’s wife have nothing more to do but done her role neatly. Saleem Kumar plays the role of father to Narayanan and Siddique plays a vital character as the person who sends people to abroad. Both of them were quite convincing. Shaheen, son of Siddique debuts in this movie in a small role.
- Performance of Mammooty.
- Strong Screen play.
- First half is bit slow.
Bottom line: Pathemari can be easily linked to themselves because surely most of us have observed at least one person like Pallikal Narayanan in our life.
Verdict: A classic must watch family movie.
